Release Notes

Form and List is available for the DNN 5.x platform only. DNN 5.0.0 or later is required.

UserDefinedTable has a new name, "Form and List".

What's New in 5.0.0:
"Form and List 5.0.0" is the successor of UserDefinedTable 3.5.1, introducing a new "Form" mode, to create flexible submission forms. The old "List" mode is still included, so the module is fully backward compatible and allows for a smooth update of existing UserDefinedTable modules.

At your option, the module tracks all changes and sends customizable email notifications using event specific messages. Private columns, which are hidden on edit based on permissions, allow for elementary workflow control. This version of Form and List introduces module templates, including all configuration data inside a single file, making it easy to reuse or share existing setups. New Form and List setups can be selected from a catalog of templates.

There are a number of additional enhancements in Form and List 5.0.0:
  • Data type editors have been extended to support both radio button and drop down lists, allowing for custom key/value pairs for both list types;
  • New Data Types: "Separator" and "Look-Up";
  • Enhanced permission handling for administrators;
  • Search and Filtering is now the same for data grid and XSL rendering;
  • New option inside the custom XSL editor enables sortable headers;
  • Current settings can be set as default for all mirrored modules;
  • TokenReplace has been extended, introducing new tokens for Server, Querystring and Form variables;
  • A layout setting has been added to provide an option for rendering in a YUI data table like fashion;
  • Forms can be designed without Javascript or HTML tables, at your option.

The module has been transitioned into an ASP.Net 2.0 WAP ("Web Application Project") module with significant refactoring. Data Types have been cleaned up, with all references and dependencies to Data Types having been removed from the rest of the code, now controlled through configuration.

Other enhancements and bug fixes include the removal of an exception for data type "Time", Script Filtering improvements, and the Form and List module has been designed XHTML compliant.
